Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Church Translation Live is operated by Christian360 Network ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information in connection with the Church Translation Live service.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to:

  • Account holders — churches and organisations that create an account to use the service.
  • Listeners — members of a congregation who access the listener page via a QR code or link. No personal data is collected from listeners.
  • Visitors — people who visit this website (churchtranslationlive.com).

Data collected from account holders

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Name and email address
  • Organisation (church or ministry) name
  • Billing information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)
  • Usage data (sessions created, languages used, listener counts)

Data collected from listeners

We do not collect any personal data from listeners. The listener page does not require an account, email address, or any identifying information. Listeners are identified only by a temporary, anonymous session token stored in their browser session. This token is discarded when the browser session ends.

We do collect anonymous aggregated analytics per session (total listener count, language breakdown, peak concurrent listeners). This data contains no personal identifiers.

Audio and transcription data

Audio captured during a session is streamed to our speech-to-text provider (Deepgram) for real-time transcription. The transcript is processed by our translation providers (DeepL and/or Anthropic Claude). Audio is not permanently stored unless the operator enables session recording (Conference plan). Transcripts are retained on our servers and are accessible to the account holder.

We recommend that churches inform their congregations that services may be transcribed when using live translation tools.

Legal basis for processing

We process account holder data on the basis of contractual necessity (to provide the service) and legitimate interests. We process session analytics on the basis of legitimate interests.

Data retention

  • Account data is retained for the duration of the account and deleted within 30 days of account closure on request.
  • Session transcripts are retained for 12 months and then deleted unless the account holder chooses to download or publish them.
  • Usage analytics are retained for 24 months.

Data sharing

We share data with the following third-party processors as necessary to provide the service:

  • Deepgram (speech-to-text) — audio streams
  • Anthropic / DeepL (translation) — transcript text
  • Stripe (payment processing) — billing data
  • Heroku / Salesforce (hosting) — encrypted data storage

We do not sell personal data to third parties. We do not share data for advertising purposes.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the UK or EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Data portability

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@churchtranslationlive.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

This website uses a minimal number of cookies strictly necessary for operation (session authentication, CSRF protection). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics. Site analytics are provided by a privacy-respecting tool that does not fingerprint or identify individual visitors.
